    Hi Bob,
We would like to have the capacity to cut aprox 600-700 mm dia logs.
    Regards Rod.

Thanks Rod, I don't have any suggestions but thought knowledge of the log size might help others that do.
Also the prospective lengths of log is worth informing members about.

It looks like our club is going to order a woodland mill HM130 any one have experience with this machine. It does seem to have the capacity we are looking for and looking at their promotional video it seems to be quite a good set up. We have a bit of a back log (pardon the pun) waiting to be milled. Is a bi-metal blade the way to go for milling.
    Regards Rod.

yes... go for a Lenox woodmaster_B blade imo. They work, and you will get 5 to 6 sharpenings out of a blade
I am currently looking at a hardwood mills GT26, the new model, which will handle logs to 30", and has 25" between the heads, with the 14.5hp electric start motor for our club (without trailer)

    Hi Brendan,
Yes we have had our mill delivered this week with sharpener and cant hook's unfortunately it is sitting at our treasurers property as we haven't got a secure area at the club yet. (waiting for council to get work's done at the club) I don't know about your council but ours has difficulty getting things done quickly but hopefully we will soon start on our pile of logs, we have been knocking back logs because of lack of room to store them.
    Regards Rod.

we have our GT26 up and running.
I slabbed up this 65cm diameter Claret Ash in about an hour. A vast improvement over a our other machine.
