Hi mate, i have a job to do thats in the same boat as this, tree is 2.4 m dia.Short and simple,i will rip about.900mm of the side and then mill that chunk latter.I will cut boards out of most untill i am 2 inch from the bottom and then leave it as a slab.Still have to lift the mill up a fair way of the ground,a bit of work but its worth it,not as hard as it looks and believe me their is always one bigger, good luck!
