Collected these today , not a native here but I couldn`t resist picking them up, now I`ll need a project to use them.

OH MATE, PAL, Buddy, Long time friend, You really don't need all of that "Firewood". I'm sure I could use some of it.

Looks great. A lot of people under estimate the old black wattle, mainly due to the small size and borer holes (especially on the east coast), but it can be a beautiful timber

Agreed dai sensei. I get the stuff from near Dubbo NSW and it's a bit hit and miss in regards to whether the timber is clear of bugs or not regardless if I cut the tree down green or pick up a dead log. Sometimes it's obvious before I cut a log but sometimes you think you've got a nice piece then get a crappy surprise. The grubs seem to be closer to the base of the trunk but sometimes get into an upper branch like below. Other pieces I've cut will be pinholed but still look good and should easily fill like the book matched pieces below. The other two pieces on the saw horse are oar locks.

There's a real variation in colours from within some pieces, I love the stuff. The hall table below is what my son made out of a very old fallen tree locally. Not so much yellow/orange in this stuff with just the chocolate colours present but still stunning.

You've got some very nice sized pieces there dusteater, great score! The stuff I get rarely gets to that diameter because they grow in sandy, rocky soil, so they usually get blown over before they get old, so I'm envious you've scored those bits.
