Default New to me Bobcat and Bastard 066 Stihl Chainsaw

    Had a good day today

Looked at a '07 Bobcat 763 and was impressed with it, that I've decided to go ahead and buy it and will be picking it up tomorrow arvo

Also managed to cannibalise enough parts from a few mates to put together a good 066 saw, managed to get a good motor but had handles busted or missing bits etc, but in the the end, got a ballsy 066 up and running for the grand sum of $120.40, yes you read that right, $120.40 and that includes the cost of a new chain as well
    Cheers

Sounds like a bargain. I'll lay odds you will part with a bit more for the Bobcat.

Hmm you posted whilst I was posting and uploading photos

I have no doubt that it will lift what you say Allan, it'll be asked to do it on an occansional day or 2 and what it can't lift, the crane truck or 9 ton excavator can do it instead

In fact the excavator can be seen in the background if ya squint hard enough

I still have the Lucas actually but it would be close to 2yrs since I last used it .

I will be using the Bobcat for recovering logs where the crane truck won't go, so I can deliver them to the sawmill and am thinking of getting back into doing doing firewood as well.

Will also be doing work with another guy who has excavators doing civil construction works.

the are a great machine, mine will lift 1.2 cube paks of timber on teh forks, and 1.5 cube logs in the bucket.

make sure you keep quick hitch greased, filling the rear wheel with water will increase lifting capacity.

Has yours got the Deutz or the Kubota motor?
I also that it's a high flow machine also, (not that you will use it for lifting/digging, but could be interesting powering a mill of other machinery).
You won't know how you lived without it.
If it's a Deutz, don't neglect your timing belt as they are an interference motor an a broken belt = much pain in the hip pocket.
