    Default Bunya Pine

I have just felled a large Bunya Pine and will be slabbing to keep some for myself and maybe sell the rest. Can anyone advise a recommended thickness to slab this tree that will be useful to a buyer

Welcome to the forum Ironbark. That's a good name for the milling section.

I have not cut Bunya Pine, but a maker of rustic furniture not far from here had a Bunya dining setting and his table slabs were about 50mm dressed so allow for some waste depending on what you are milling with and some more for shrinkage during drying.

I know others have cut this timber so perhaps they can be more specific.

If you're after a 50mm finished slab start at 65mm - that is if you can rely on the slab being an even accurate measurement along its length - if not add more :O
