Just read the Australian standard for grading soft wood and if it meets it then you can grade it

so i take that as,the standard isn't speicies specific? unlike hardwoods? if so then i can understand why the grading course only takes one day. thanks krunchie

Don't worry about going. To grade a piece of soft wood or hard wood according to the Australian standard you just need to asses it *to the Australian standard and grade accordingly

It's normally pretty hard to find Aus Standards docs for free. Just go to Standards Australia and it'll be available for purchase for not much.
