    Some pretty timber there mate!!!

Never had a chance to see the inside of a reasonable size Cadagi. Only ever seen small trunks that were uninteresting.

Chowcini, yep it looks like a Cadaghi to me, a bit of a difference between MBA and Cadaghi is MBA has very regular almost tile-like 'scales' on it's lower portion and then smooths out into a silvery smooth bark. Cadaghi has a similar rough bark on it's lower portions, but it doesn't get the regular tile like pattern, it has a pattern more akin to a cross between bloodwood scales and Ironbark depth of bark, then smooths out into a green bark. In Pete's picture I reckon the green smooth bark is the dead give away. Might have a pic of MBA somewhere...

Not a great pic to show the rough tile like bark at the bottom, but it does show the silver coloured smooth bark.

Here's a little cadaghi I got for free from a local's front yard...

I have to agree it is a very nice looking timber, I feel it's only downfall is sapwood being so wide and susceptible to powder post borer

In this area (at least) the MBA also can have greenish tinge to the bark, partic when the older bark is shed. The distinct feature is the tesselated (tilelike) bark at the base like a sock. I'm pretty sure those logs of yours Chowcini are MBA, Cadagi has a more fissuredbark. For some reason Cadagi seems a bit malaligned but I reckon they are a nice tree, and nice timber as this thread shows.

Hey Pete, can you do 'em all a favour and when you get a chance, take a pic of the rough portion of that Cadaghi bark so you can show 'em it's not a MBA - thanks mate!

    Exclamation

MBA is tall and slender,as the photos show.

Cadagi starts brancning fairly early and has very spreading branches. The leaves are much larger and attract a black sooty mold.

Pics of the stump and the rough bark of the cadagi.
They asked me to make a seat in the stump, so I had to make it a royal throne fit for a king of course
