Good to see some of you made it out there.

I thought there was a delay until DJ could turn up with the splitter

Not to worry, I'll drag my carcass out there to give DJ a hand when he goes.

T'was a dark and stormy night...well, more of a heavy morning fog actually.

We had a great day out there today and from about 6 working hours had shifted and stacked maybe 5 meters of wood. Krunchie is an absolute MACHINE with an axe and managed to split the majority of the felled trees...with a little help from a lot of termites Although, we did leave the shedded redgum and made a pile of the bigger gnarly stuff for DJ to have a crack at.

Aside from the stump grindings, bark, a bit of extra sawdust and a pile of crud to be burned, the yard is looking nice and clear now and Gabrielle is chuffed with the results of todays effort.

Groggy: Sorry that you missed out. It was a bit of a last minute thing on Friday. But never fear, there's still some more to do and we can make a time of it whenever DJ is up for it

Huge thanks to Nev for introducing us to Gabrielle who was very grateful and generous (even though we tried to argue with her that there was no need) and to Krunchie for busting his butt swinging ye olde Fiskars around and giving me a bit of chainsaw and forestry education...and a heck of a lot of laughs.

    Round 2 coming up next.

OK, I've put this weekend aside to travel to Ballarat for the w/end.

Will be heading up on Friday and will be available for 1 day of splitting, my preference would be for Saturday.

I'll be coming up in the ute with splitter, 038 and 660.

Will need an address for myself and Groggy as he has said he'll be there on what ever day is suitable.
    Cheers

    DJ

Bewdy. PMs sent and mission underway.

If we've got DJ pulling the lever and Groggy and I loading and unloading the beast, I think that's about all the hands we'll have need for this time around. Still, if anyone else wants to put their hand up we could probably squeeze you in somewhere.

    Mission accomplished

DJ and Groggy rocked up this rather frosty morning and within a few hours we had split eveything we could lay our hands on. It was an impressive effort and another enjoyable day...even if DJ's dogs either tried to eat me or sniff me to death

Once again, thanks to everyone who helped out...Krunchie, DJ, Groggy. Gabrielle really appreciates the efforts we've all put in and is happy to have her yard looking nice again and be able to light the fire inside now that it's getting even colder (it hit -2 in Ballarat last night)

It was great for me to meet a few of you fellas too. Always nice to put faces to names.

    Until next time

No need mate, I initially bought it up to Ballarat in the tandem, as I'll be taking home some other stuff with me as well so it will be going back home in the tandem as well
    Cheers

It was a good day yesterday, once we sorted out who was where and got going it was surprisingly quick. DJ's splitter was fantastic as it did the heavy work and Kris and I just threw wood around and stacked it.

I didn't feel the cold until we finished, funny that It was a good day out, I like Ballarat, it is a nice place for a visit.
