Large Camphor to break down
Hey Guys, I've got the shakes/shingles project on the back burner for a bit. Me and my mate have got on to huge diameter hill grown camphor. I'm talking 1.7 meter at the base to even larger further up were 5 large branches crown out. Clean with no pipe. I've got a chain saw mill, skip a tooth ripping chain and several rail options. The saw is a Magnum 880 Stihl with a 52 inch bar. Me and my young fellas have slabbed some bits and pieces in the past but nothing of this size. Would dearly like some input from you experienced blokes to do this magnificent old girl some justice. Luckily its allready been felled with easyish access.
Over to you.

A 52" bar will only handle ~1.2m dia, so you will need to cut cants off the sides first, hope you have a decent cant hook or tractor to rotate it . Take it slow and easy, keep the revs up and don't push too hard, slope your log, use oiler on max and axillary oiler at tip, have fun and take plenty of photos
