Last time we spoke I said "this might be the last time I come up and purchase timber." Your parting words were, "I'm not sure about that." I feel as though you have won this round.

Chris, how are you going to sell it? Will you sell it green or salt it away for sometime?
I would be happy with a bowl blank or 7 as well as some flatter boards to book match or box making
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

Another question regarding the root ball....is it typical of Camphor Laurel to make a "mat of the roots? I would not have liked the job of grubbing out that stump with only hand tools. It would have been quite a task for an excavator too. The size of it is amasing
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

A lot of excavator and backhoe time Rod...lucky that is is embalmed in sand rather than rocks though
This tree was reputedly planted around 1890's so no surprise that the root system is so advanced
Looks to have about 16 main roots that have fused here and there in places forming a thick mat
Pics are from a small trimming of one of those roots...great color variation
Will slice another one up today and post more pic...MM

Imagination running riot here if it had been sliced through horizontal to the axis slabs of 2" to 3" thick OR slices every 5" to 6" axial/vertical through root section.

I know stones rock and dirt
