SGs not too bad when green, with a good nail gun of course, but dry, pre-drilling is the order of the day.

I hope the statement is not a reflection on the bros..

Just a thought on 20M3 of green spotted gum: That would weigh by my calculations 23 tonnes assuming it was cut exactly (allowing 1150Kg for green spotty).

Too much "extra" timber would test the maximum allowable weight of a 20' shipping container I think.

    Regards
    Paul

(When I thought again, the container has already gone. Too late.)

well you loaded the box, but there must be a fair amount of air in it to allow for the stickering.

I was thinking more along the lines that they would be more used to working with something like Radiata or Douglas Fir or that other plantation softwood whose name escapes me

Got back for the weekend late last night.

So far we've got most the logs we need, snigged out the bush and at our cleared mill site. I came home for the weekend, Carl stayed out there and we're getting both mills slicing like crazy next week.

I've got pics on the phone, but its a new one so bit too much involved to get the pics onto the lappy, will have the new lot of pics all setup end of next weeks cutting

Got an external antenna for the phone and software installed on the lappy, will see how easy/hard it is to download piccys soon.

Hope old mate Carl is ok out there on his lonesome, his phone would have died by now as he could only charge it in my ute...will find out in the mornin soon enough

    so pics....

first is Carl and I at Gympie on our way out to 'the Dub'...

second is Bo on my ute and Carl's mill on his trailer at Gayndah

third is Carl trying to camo the tractor at the jobsite

fourth is Carl sniggin some logs out of the bush to our log dump

fifth is the log dump and Carl loading docked logs onto the trailer

sixth is a pic of the track - immediately behind the trailer at one particular spot....

seventh is Carl at the 'particular spot' of the track...

eighth is a close up of that 'particular spot'

last pic is Carl driving the ute (and apparently takin pics at the time too lmao) with me joggin the track in front of the ute clearing some of the stuff which needed to be trimmed back for the ute and trailer to drive easier.

So far we've got just about all the logs we need to our log dump and over half of them to our mill site. The new Hi-lift Jack I got for a steel in a shop at 'the Dub' has come in handy 5 times already in its first 4 days I've had it. Also had to buy my first ever beanie!!
