New Chainsaw
I still have my Stihl 660 for the big heavy work, but i also had an old Mcculloch Eager Beaver chainsaw for the little jobs, plus when I pinched the big one in a bad way . I originally bought it for lopping small branches for firewood back in 1982(?), so one of the good old cast aluminium ones, not the plastic crap they are today.
Anyway, I pulled it out for a bit of trimming around the yard on the weekend, but it wouldn't start. Normally it starts 3rd pull every time. After checking the usual stuff, pulled the filter off and the fuel intakes to ensure Ok which they were. Pulled the spark plus lead off and the connector came off with it. The I found the whole lead was perished. Got it fixed enough for a spark, but the old thing still wouldn't start The chain brake handle fell off years ago and parts were hard to come by then. So as usual, talking to the local dealer, it wasn't worth fixing.
So I decided it was time to get a new little saw. After shopping around, I settled on a Stihl 211 Mini Boss. Lightweight but with a bit of grunt, 16" bar and a std 3/8" chain, not one of those mini things they sell these days. A couple of extra chains thrown in, plus another $80 off the posted price after a lot of winging , so I was pretty happy.
Now I've got all that clearing to do , but at least I've got a good saw to do it with

How true, must be because I am spending the money my ex would have, if she was still here She used to say, the shoes were $50 off, so I bought 3 pairs and we saved $150

Put the little beast to the test today on a few umbrella trees out of control. It went well resulting in probably 3 trailer loads (still to finish tomorrow taking to tip). I might save the trunk pieces ~100-150mm dia, should be perfect for kids spinning tops when dry, if it doesn't collapse too much.
