Chainsaw issues
Hi Folks
I have a Sthil MS210c chainsaw and I'm having issues. When it's first started it runs ok but a few minutes work it just dies. You can re start it and it runs for maybe 20-30 seconds and then dies again. It is running on freshly mixed fuel, and just to be sure I emptied that out and put another fresh batch in with the same result.
Any ideas as to the issue?
cheers

Can it be restarted immediately after it stalls, or do you have to wait for a while?
If its the first of these then I would check
fuel filter
Dirty/blocked carby.
impulse line to crankcase not sealing properly
If the second it could be a temperature dependent crankcase pressure problem.
These are a PITA to fix.

I have a Gerni with a Honda motor. It would start okay but the moment I went to start gerniing it would cut out. I first thought it was a fuel problem but after much cursing I went up the road and bought a new spark plug and it solved my problems.

My chainsaw issue is that the neighbours don't like the sound of it running

Can pretty much restart it striaght away, it just dies again as within 20 seconds. Think I'm goping to drop it into the local dealer and get them to have a look. I need it working as I scored a whole heap of timber after our recent storm and I need to get cracking in breaking it down.

Or, being a Stihl, a blocked air filter.
Have to wash mine regularly with hot water and detergent.
