cheap cut
hi every one ! just a quick note to tell you all about my latest purchase.
i was in the good old bunnings store the other day, and in the mower blower ect ect section i found a chain sharpener . the type that you would pay normally around 400.00 bucks for. this one was around 60.00 bucks.looked pretty sound so i bought it.at home i tried it out and wow! and i mean that, it worked a treat. so i sharpened all my chains and went out to slab some old strainer posts. the cut was fantastic. just need to get some pics so i can post them on here soon. this thing may not be as robust as the more expensive one but hay were not all millionares ay? well happy days ,and ave a good one , cheers Bulloak.

Just be a bit careful with those cheap grinders, they do not grind the left and right hand cutters to the same length without a bit of mucking about and checking.
I still reckon I get better results by hand than a grinder and when using a CS mill I can touch up faster by hand than I can swap out chains. Grinders are still very useful things for cleaning up damaged cutters and turning regular chain into ripping chain which is how I tend to use them.
It will be interesting ti see how long the Ozito lasts but going by my cheap angle grinder (7 years?) it could be good.

i agree totally
Hi bobL ,yea mate i agree whole heartidly that you must use abit of nous when using these things, what i did the first time i used it was to make sure left and right settings were the same. and i used a small punch to mark them.and yea the file is still a better way when your out and about ,but this thing just makes the chain set spot on. cheers Bulloak.

Check out the replacement discs Bulloak. From memory, the arbour size or the disc diameter are non-standard and the replacement discs need to be Ozito ones. The big B doesn't carry them as standard stock so you might want to pre-order.
