Who do I contact to offer timber to for milling???
Hello, it probably is very much a girl question and lucky for me I am that lol. I have just purchased 65 acres with forestry on a good part of that, okay not a huge scale operation but there are some very tall straight trees that someone may like, when having the dozer guy out her mentioned blood wood, but being an Ausie girl those super tall straight ones are gums but that is where my knowledge is limited and that of who I could contact to have a look at them and also what is the average rough guess on a tree. As they are so tall the risk to animals and infrastructure outweighs their beauty and there is still middle size and smaller ones coming through. But main question is who I contact, would be happy to give them up for cheap but guessing the government may want legit receipts. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated, I am in the Maryborough/Tiaro region in Qld if anyone knows of anyone, thanks kindly for our time. lis

Hi Lis, if you can, find 'MAPLEMAN' on this forum and send him a PM (private message) he may (or not) be able to guide you or point you in the right direction

Lis, welcome to the forum!!!
Just replied to your overnight PM.
Up Tiaro way, I'd guestimate your 'gums' would be spotty. if you wanted to throw a pic or two up I'll let you know if you like?
Sorry, M'bro is a bit far for me to pay for haulage, but more than happy to do cut jobs your way if you wanted some timber from them - did about 50 cubic metres on a property just south of M'bro in Tinana a while back.I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
