    Default Cranked up the Bandmill

The local wood Group have been collecting a few Logs recently from the Local tree loppers. We decided we would have to process some of them, even though it was bloody Hot to be cutting Wood. We worked early Mornings and Late afternoons for a couple of days and made a bit of a Dent in the Woodpile.

We still have a big Bluegum(See woodpile Photo's),Some Lemon Scented Gum and a couple of Yellow Stringybark logs to process on the Lucas Slabber and swingmill.

Anyway here are some snaps of the 1st round of Milling

    Cheers Jon

    Nice work Newjon!!....

love the bandmill! nice to see it working on the logs. i havent quite got to finishing my bandmill (in Brisbane) as i spent a fair amount of time last year overseas....and there was always something more urgent to finish off around the house (according to my wife) than my bandmill.....nonetheless - will hopefully get it complete soon!. again - love the logs and boards!!

will keep my eye on this thread...see what other goodies you slab!
    regards

Looks good, where abouts are you milling. It's obviously on a farm somewhere. I did a lot of work around emerald 25 years ago for smiths welding works.

Rob, Just North of Emerald on top of the hill opposite the radio towers, Nice and close to town, and all the right equipment to handle logs. A very valuable club member.

Don't look too hard, you may see some more re-purposed steelwork, like solar Mount unistrut, HJ75 Cruiser bumper bar and maybe a few other things,I hate to see stuff thrown away.
    cheers,
    Jon

I know where that is, I probably worked on the farm fixing machinery at one time.

That bumper guard is a great idea. Good job, well done.
