Some CSM milling for a short while back
Thought I'd share something a little different(at least for y'all), this was a paid milling I did on a piece of Green Ash{Fraxinus pennsylvanica}. The tree was standing dead for an unknown length of time, and it was pretty solid and hard going. The logs were really small compared to the things I get to see others here doing....only measuring 7'8"length x 20" to 26"diameter
One of my milling rigs...Stihl064 36"
Some eye-candy
I pretty much split the logs down through the pith(customer requested, I do not argue with customers), and then sliced 2-1/2"thick pieces off. He will dry them and then make 'book-matched' table tops with them. And yes, the amount of milling hard work, but I was able to enjoy the slight breeze coming off the lake...at least until the sun was straight up over me and then it breeze just died! Humidity climbed, and the sweating started!

A little chunk milling on the WM LT10....
Southern Red Oak{Quercus falcate}, just a small chunk. The 'jig' holds well enough, as long as I don't get silly.
There are many people that do not like the Oaks, due to the open pores in the end-grain. Their loss!
I love the stuff....enjoy!
