Good customer service = Good PR
We have heard a lot of late about customer service or rather the lack of it so I thought you might like to hear a good report.
I have just sold my Dinasaw sawsetter to Newjon and as I was packing it up realised I had forgotten to pick up the setting gauge when I was down in the Hunter Valley. Ooops. 600Km away and not worth a special trip.
So I contacted Dinasaw by phone and spoke to Greg, who is now the sole owner having bought out his brother Ben. I explained the problem and asked how much a replacement would be. He immediately said "I'll just post that out to you. No charge."
Well, wasn't that a pleasant experience? I already felt like doing business with him again. What can I buy?
Anyhow, I contacted Jon to let him know the gauge would arrive separately as it was being posted directly from Dinasaw. Jon emailed me back saying that he already had one as it was thrown in for free when he bought a grinding wheel for his profiler!
Goodness just deserves a mention!.

Just to add some more, I rang Greg on several occassions to get advice on how to set up an old dinasaw profiler I had acquired. He was only to happy to help and offer his time and Experience. He even gave advice on blade speed and saw set. Well done Dinasaw, thanks Greg for giving your time.

A little more info for those what's interested .
Dinasaw once upon a time used to manufacture their own bandsaw. It was a very large, but I think still fundamentally portable, machine. However, I didn't know that they used to make their own bandsaw blades with ribbon purchased from Sweden.
Greg filled me in on all that when I spoke to him yesterday. They only concentrate on the profilers and setters now and in fact their tooling for the blade production was sold to Henry Bros in Sydney.
Greg thought that the Lennox Woodmaster B (Bi metal) was a blade that had much to recommend it.

Just on the same tack, when I say "everybody needs to get something out of it," I have a maxim that in business everybody has to benefit for the continued success of working with each other.
The day you pull a "fast one" is the day you destroy the rapport. The injured party is disgruntled, doesn't want to deal with you anymore and badmouths you to anybody he comes across. really poor PR .
On the other hand, if you always make sure the people you are dealing with are content, business will continue.
Beware though, there is always a customer from hell, but that too is a two way street. In the end you don't supply to them!

It's also good to hear someone is telling other people about something that is good. I try as best I can to shout it out on the rooftops and then try to approach the people direct if I have an issue with something
I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
