Cutting Tallowood
I have been cutting tallowood 8x2s oversize for a few days. I need to stop and clean up the mill.
Thought I would take a couple of pics.

Wow replacment blades must be a killer do you have to retip those teeth as well as set and hammer the blade too?.
I noticed on the control panel you have an edger option can put a picture up of that too.

I took the edger off. I found I could edge over my breast bench more quickly. To use the edger you have to line the log up perfectly and you have to remove all the wood after each cut. Without it I can do a number of cuts before pushing the timber back.
The edger is also powered by hydraulic motor it has one blade fixed and the other positionable by a PLC. Max depth of cut 120mm and maximum width was 610mm.
Maximum width on the bandsaw is 1500mm. More if you remove the packing.
Blades are stellite tipped and cost $900 each. I get them retipped when they need it. I don't service them myself.
