I shouldn't laugh, but I can't help it, the thought of you looking down at the file sticking out

So I assume you didn't have steel caps on, or was the file through the sole?

    #### Carl, you gonna be at the docs for sure in the morning - sorry mate, but if there wasn't any blood, you are going to have a hell of a lot of swelling, you're going to need anti-inflam's and possibly antibio's too, the tetanus will be fine, but infection and swelling will bugger you over. Ya ankle is so low, that it doesn't get much chance for the swelling to go down, especially workin on it all day. If you're not already, get the thing up and try to get some ice on it

But you do stick one of your new tickets on your toes to protect them don't you

Honestly Carl, I don't think I have ever heard of a more accident prone fella. Hope it sorts itself out quickly.

I'm no doctor, but I'm tipping you're lucky you've had some recent tetanus shots with a lack of blood from a penetrating wound. Being an anaerobic organism, tetanus loves blunt, penetrating wounds. You don't tend to see it so much with well a bleeding gash - I usually assume the more stitches the lower the chance of tetanus
I believe there is a good correlation wtih the presence of manure, particularly horse. It's not uncommon for retirees keeping busy in the garden to put a fork through the foot when turning over a load of Mr Ed's best and then get into trouble with a little Clostridium Tetani.
    See a GP, mate.

...at least they'll be able to get the bar oil and swarf from the file out of your foot

    So. How deep was deep?

yeah come on, how deep was it? and it was obviously blunt end first, not pointed handle end first? Blunt end first would be why there isn't so much blood - same concept for those re-bar caps and star picket caps, so if you fall on then it doesn't cause as much damage... geese Carl, go steady mate
