Bandsaw milling raintree
A couple of these slabs I decided to cut up into various sizes, 2 off them had bark inclusions
some pics and vids if they load, only 10MB this time (it is a MVI) cant see what max MVI file size is
Is a MVI same as an avi?
Some pics at least...
This is one big reason I like my sled/s.... a 92kg lump of raintree fork

infeed side.. BobL note the wider rollers, not as neat as I'd like and a bit slow to remove/reset up and a lot more difficult to mount without the piece of channel I mounted on the top of the fence(
I see a better fence in the future)

lining the slab up to take the sapwood off

sapwood gone

with pieces like this I will mark some lines on to see where best to cut

the laser that u buy from Carbatec is ok but really needs to be mounted away from the door so as to give u a longer line on the piece u r cutting (I see a mod here)

unfortunately there was a big bark inclusion and it ended up in two slabs

I did salvage a bit of crotch figure from the other side
this is one way I move these lumps of stuff, wheels and axle from off something like a cement mixer that I picked up at the tip shop

the other side with the bark inclusion

my vids have loaded and I see they r labelled as an AVI with allowable size of ~46MBdownload was exceeded this month so things r slow
first one I use the rollers as a guide to my cut width, I move the slab over until both rollers are in contact with the previously cut edge, it is easiest if there is another roller/stop/guide mounted further back on the infeed, if tension plays no part in the cut then it's just a gentle push, I take it steady, I could move faster but steady I have a little more time up my sleeve if things go wrong

this one I am cutting to a marked line using the laser, something stops the sled part way thru, my handbroom fell off the slab into the works and was sticking up
