    Default Electric Lucas

Having to move premises, thanks to local council, I have taken on a property with a DECENT sized shed on. I'm now contemplating buying an electric 10-30 to reduce noise inside the shed and also fumes. Who has one, are you happy with it and are there any downsides to it being electric (other than portability of course)? The shed already has 3 phase power and I'd probably keep my old girl for mobile jobs outside.

The electric Lucas has an 11Kw brake motor (I use to sell them the motors) you will need to make sure the power supply is adequate.

an electric lucas should be a lot better that the petrol powered ones, an electric motor wont slow like a petroll, keeping up correct cutting speed.

saw blades are tensioned for a specific speed having an electric motor to hold this speed will make the blades last longer and cut better.

i would have one on my mill if i didnt need it to still be portable, we are going to put a 20hp on the old peterson at the mill and use it as a fixed site mill.

i would say either buy a new mill or swap the motor out for an electric one.
