every second day move it 2 foot to the left

carl i just had a look through what i could find on the EPA site and came up empty on sawmill licence .
you would think if new laws had been brought out they would make them easy to find .
about all you can do is ring some one of authority in the dept and find out , then ask for it in writing just in case the manure hits the fan later

    Water Resources Act 1989 (WRA)
The WRA provides for the allocation and management of Queensland water resources and the protection of riverine
vegetation and the physical integrity of water courses. In this regard the WRA requires licences to be obtained for the
use of pumps or construction of works on water courses. A permit is required take quarry material, clear trees or
place fill in water courses. The Act applies to all water courses in Queensland.

Carl, what Inter has said is basically what I found out when I was first looking into sawmill as a job - you had to do over a certain amount of cutting a year. Mind you 500 tonne is as little as 10 tonne a week...

There may be something specific to the dam catchment area you'll be working in???

    got teh low down today.

the limit is 5000 tons/year or no more than 2 days in one location before a sawmill licence is required.

that is as per sawmill icencing act amendment 2005

a lot of local ,state and federal laws never get enforced because they dont pay enough , or any , enforcement officers to run around all over the country checking and looking for infringements .wonder how many mobile saw mill inspectors there are ??and if they get paid extra for successful fines and convictions??
