Thread: gday saw dust management query

We let it fall onto the ground where together with the water used for cooling the blade it cakes into hardish-biscuit-like material. After milling half a dozen logs, swap the forks on the loader for the bucket and scrape it into a pile and pick it up and take it to the wood chip pile.

we would probably strugle to pick up as our surface is crushed concrete
was also wondering about compressing for fire bricks ?

The bigger BSM is outside under trees so all manner of leaves, honkey nuts and branches etc fall into it so it's useless for bricking.
The surrounding surface is mainly blue metal - just don't set the loader bucket deep enough so it picks it up.

The smaller mill is under a high veranda on a concrete floor so scraping that one is no problem. Currently the sawdust from that one is being collected in square root carrier bags (1m^3) along with thicknesser and table saw saw dust., I don't know what the boss plans for that. I think he is planning to sell it to stables? Personally I think it still contains too many leaves and slivers of wood for stables.
