    Default Help-Which chain to use

    have been using 404 skip tooth at 10 degrees for milling slabs with 42 inch bar, have been asked to mill 3x4 and 6x3 out of stringy bark for horse stables, going to use 090 or 084 with 36 inch bar, finish doesnt have to be same quality as for slabbing can i use 30 degree 404 skip tooth. advise would be helpful

    30 deg skip tooth will cut fater than 10 deg and finish wont go down that mutch.

    I think the general concensus is u might get more washboard effect but other than that no probs

    what ever is on the saw at the time!!!
    I am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.

    Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.
