holidays, blackwood to mill and fences to build
Well here I am halfway through the first week of my holidays, had a few ridiculously hot days, where it has been sheer impossibility to achieve anything, But I have managed to do a bit. Just thought I would share some pics of what Has been achieved and what is yet to be done.
First is the whats to be done, In the form of the Blackwood I have got to mill. I picked this up out the road they had felled a few nice sized blackwoods to make way for road improvements and had felled them and just painted "free wood" on the side of them, I got in quick on them. They had been felled around lunch time and I knocked off work at 5 pm by 5:30 The chainsaw was running. Filled my trailer and a mates rodeo ute, who I had roped in to give me a hand loading it. I got a few finishing touches to put on my rail mill before I cut it up which will be done in the next day or so. Then late next week I have a few more to mill.
Next Is the what has been achieved, The missus has wanted a fence out the front to keep the kids contained so I "found" a few posts and rails, cut them up and built a no nail colonial style post and rail fence

Travis, are you the one in the red or blue? and if not the only people putting in posts are two young blokes but if i were you i'd upgrade the shovel, those yellow ones break easy when they hit the clay

Nah I was driving the camera or getting out of shot when the pics were being taken, I am allergic to photos...lol. The two young blokes were my "assistants" haven't worked out whether they were assisting or slowing the whole process down. at least the experience will do them good.

Hey travis, don't knock the 'assisstants' all too soon you seem to turn around and they don't wont to be out with Dad anymore - then they want paying to help around the house
oh, by the way, great looking jobI love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!

Nah the assistants are good, the oldest is just about ready to step up to real tools. They weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouth, was more like a hammer in hand...lol
Thanks for the compliment, the neighbours all wanted me to keep going and do their front fences as well.
Just need to work out what to do for gates now. Was going to do them in the same sort of style just need to design them so they don't sag.
