they sure are.
i did one and a half. i am cuttign tehm in half so i can handle the boards easily. then dragging them over to teh mill with the ute or tractor and rolling them in with a cant hook or the loader ifim feelen lazy.
so iv done 3 lengths and theres about another 10 or so more there.
all nicely quater sawn.
verry little sap stain and im flooding them with fungaside.
there is just over 1m3 of timber there.

Carl, I don't see your sidewinder - adjusting it?
it also looks like the carriage has been rubbing the rails for a while - did you manage to sort that out?
and how do you manage with the scales for the vertical drop on the endframes all the way down there? Surely you can't see if the guage is right on the required amount of drop, when they are down there and you are winding the which up there so to speak?
One last thing - Yeah I know this morning I've woken up picky, but one day it will happen, it happened to me, hence why I mention it. Don't ever leave anything metal within the boundaries of the rails, that tin you have on the floor at the end of the mill, it might not happen today, but you'll be trying to sneak the last very last board out of a log and watching how close you are to your supports, the you make it and you think you are a legend, you come out the log on the horizontal, flip the blade and BANG!! the blade dips part way through the swingover and you now have a fraked blade, an interesting piece of tin and a story to tell on the forum. Yes in this pic the log finished well before the tin, so you weren't down there right over the tin, but I'm telling the story to explain for some other time. I don't even lie the iron bar, or iron can't hook on the floor within the rails, everything metal is outside the rails. The only metal I have is 10 batten screws (very well recessed in my log supports) and the bottom rails for the end framesI love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
Allan.

Are you treating it with anything to stop the blue stain?
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Weisyboy . . . . I'm sooo jealous. I've always wanted the know how to mill and then unleash on a Hoop. Your boards look fairly clean of knots, which part of the tree? The butt?
Cheers.

you have not separated your timber horizontally allowing good ventilation & you need to stop the heat radiating straight to the top timber from the plastic, it will be raining under that plastic in hours creating ideal conditions for stain

tehre is 1" stickers between each layer of boards. last time i seperated them verticly also but time before i didnt and it turned out ok so i will see.
i know what u mean about teh condensation. that is tempry as tehre will be more going on top in the next few days. althow the condensation should run downhill (to the right in the photo) there is about 3" fall in teh stack.
thanks for the advice.
