Default Japanese maple. Any good to mill?

I have a Japanese Maple that was damaged badly when another tree fell on it and basically destroyed the top half of it.
I will be taking it out.
My question is, Is it any good to mill for use in small woodwork projects.
If so how long should it take to dry.
Also what thickness would be suitable ?maybe 25-30 mm or less.
And what should I use to sticker between pieces.
I would be cutting it up on my bandsaw.
The main trunk is 600 in circumference where it branches out and is 800mm in length to that point.
There are a couple of minor trunks after that around 600 -800 in length and smaller in diameter.
If its not really worth it it'll go in hard rubbish soon.

    Thanks for your advice

    Frank

Local turners may like some of the smaller bits.
