The reality of cutting logs
We all want to show wonderful shots of wide slabs and beautiful boards.
The reality is sometimes very different.
To show how much fun this is, we cut up the butt piece of the dead red cedar today, should have got around 10 or so 4 metre long x 1 metre wide slabs.
Instead, got lots of rot and 4-5 slabs 2m x 1m
Oh well..... that's show business

Been in that space a few times.
Happily merry about the speed of the cutting, smell of the wood and the colour of the sawdust.
Suddenly there's that subtle change and within seconds there's that sour taste in the mouth as all goes to pot.

Must be going around - I copped a bit of a hiding on a cedar today too. But no-where near as bad as yours... mine was just slow going, couple of wandering shakes, and nails. And more nails. And then some more nails. Yard trees *eyeroll*.
But yours... THAT is why logs are worth nothing. Because aint no-one giving you a refund on the time or money invested to get "not even good for firewood or woodchip"
