A little problem with my truck...
So while doing a nice large cut job up at Maryborough, poor old Donkey the dual cab light truck has shown he is getting rather old and all but given up. He's still soldiers on, but is not very far from stopping all together.
I can't get more time off the day job at the moment so I have to finish off the Maryborough job on my weekends, so this means a lot more k's done on the road, old Donkey just isn't up to it anymore...
Here's my solution!!!
I picked it up earlier this week. He's a Nissan Navara 4x4 3.0L turbo diesel goes really well considering it's predecessor and already came with racks to take the rails, so that was a big bonus.
It also gave me the chance to hold the rails on like Lucas do when they go on the road for demo days - notice no ropes or straps for the rails.
Best of all, with a small amount of thought Bo Derek fits in the tray wonderfully - just like Larry the 6-18 used to in Donkey; the tailgate holds against the tires so there is no need for a tie down on the carriage. Also I have a bit extra tray room to put the end frames etc.
Hope you like it as much as I doI love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
Allan.

Thanks for the kind words fellas
Went up to M'bro this weekend, trip was 47 minutes in The Mutt (new utes name) Donkey was taking over an hour to do the same trip with the same mill on board!!! also used half a tank of fuel in The Mutt whereas in Donkey used a full tank to do the same trip!!! gotta love that. Now I have to learn to control my right foot all over again, spent the last 6 years holding the accelerator to the floor and never going over the speed limit.
Carl The Mutt cost $10k bloody Russian roulette - geese mate it wasn't that bad, Donkey didn't let me down, he's still running too if ya tailor wants him???I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
