Well. I see that as a real 'People eater'.

This is what I have a problem with (after 5 seconds of thought);
1. No anti kickback or chain brake
2. No dog spikes
3. Probably revs Waaaaaay too fast
4. The bar is not being oiled, so will run very tight. (Edit; I meant Hot)
5. Didn't see a means of adjusting chain tension
6. Some PPE would also be nice.

But apart from all that, looks great. In fact, I must go now, rush off to the shed and make one. In the process, I will ditch my other Stihl chainsaws to make room for this one.
As an aside, I believe most WA work sites, mines etc have banned the use of 9 inch angle grinders due to their large torque and propensity to injure people

After I stopped laughing I realise how many issues this thing has.
Willy has pretty well covered it but the biggest issue I can see is the ergonomics are serious flawed.

Unlike a regular CS which has a top wrap handle, neither arm can be locked at the elbow to fight even the slightest kickback in line with the body of the motor.
This means that even on minor kickback the operator will be parting his hair with the chain.
On a regular CS a locked arm on the wrap handle means a kick back especially on a small saw will go over the operators head

The next most serious flaw is that there is no clutch or trigger based speed control - It's flat out or nothing, AND NO IDLE.
When cutting wood there is always the need to reposition a stance or move wood so the operator is going to be tempted to be doing this with the grinder running at full speed WHOA!.....

Rev wise it should be OK as this is about the speed of an electric CS.

I am still laughing...............BobL....I know, I know I should be agasp in horror...but that one just takes the cake....haha...its probably liable to take the hand and the arm......and anything else it chooses in that split second......far out....anyone using that tool may end up being buries in two coffins.....

No Chain Brake
No anti vibration mounts.
Chain tension goes from tight to "slopping all over the place and running in the cut cause there's no place else to go"
Bar not getting enough oil... probably comes with a hand pump oiler.


That makes it an 090!!!

Is it just me, or did it let off sparks on start up before the first cut?

The major issue with the 9" grinders and one of the major reasons behind the ban is the difference between the grinding and cutting discs and the requirement for different lock nuts holding them in place. Use the wrong one and you have exploding discs really quickly.

Some mine sites allow the 9" grinders to be used on site but they only stock the grinding discs not the cutting disc. This was the case on one of the big sites I worked on a few years ago.
