Bobble brings up some salient points and this adds some levity to the general discussion.
I have no concerns with people earning a living from forestry by whatever means are legal, and economically and environmentally affordable.
I think that as wood workers we cringe at the sight of good timber going into a fire. That is our main problem!
Nice to see that pile of posts Catpower!!

Friday 30 tonne to the central coast
Saturday 32 tonne to Canberra

How much do you pay for a single log before its processed?
Be interesting to know, for getting raw logs here in Canberra for milling is absolutely impossible. I was considering a mill, but Ive canned that idea!

Prices vary a bit mainly because of freight distances,firewood logs are around $50 per tonne delivered and good quality saw logs are just under $100 per tonne

I bought some firewood this morning...$175 per tonne and I picked it up from the seller.

Majority species is Blackbutt some bluegum and bloodwood
