    Default Got some logs delivered

I decided to get some Cypress logs carted for me to mill, any one want to buy some custom cut cypress? These should keep me busy for a while but I was thinking of getting another load.

Nice machine Glenn looks like it would make log handling easy, how about posting some more pics of the rest of your setup?

Neither the forder or the truck are mine. My brother is in the process of removing 250 cypress trees I just decided to take a truck full of logs. If it was closer I would take another load.

Have you got a market/use for the timber? or can you get a market? I like having logs around even if I don't have immediate use for them...

have an order for some pickets and rails but was told floor boards should sell well. Was told to cut them thick 150 x 28 what do you think?

glen they look like good macrocarpa logs, so they'll be fine for indoor use. if you use it for outdoor purposes, the sapwood rots very quickly

Glen I'd think the 28mm would be a good oversize for flooring, but the 150 might be too much and aid in splitting of the boards, I'd be inclined to do 110x28 - unless of course the buyer has a better buy price for the wider board, but if it's for general market, I'd go the 110x28 maybe even 30???

Macrocarpra barely moves - 150 Macrocarpra will be very stable, I reckon you'd even safely get away with 200mm mac flooring.

Only have a 6" Lucus so can't go wider. I just sold some in various sizes for $900/m3 is that a good price? It paid to get the rest of the logs here anyway.

I think you pay about $100/hr for a semi but it varies a lot so a grand a day is good and here and back filled a day.
