I lost my fencing pliers
Probably not the right place for this, but, as a lot of you use chain saws, I reckon a lot of you put up rural fences too. so, here goes....
I had a favourite pair of fencing pliers until a week ago when one of the blokes borrowed them, and now they're GONE!!!!
Does anyone know of a decent brand of plier, as all I can find in my rural suppliers is junk made in Asia.I bought what seemed to be , and was in times past, a good brand, but the bloody things will not cut 12.5 G wire, and I've got BIG hands.
I want a standard design, not those parrot beaked abominations.
Can anyone help?? Brand?? Dealer?? I don't mind spending a few dollars for a good tool.
( I had a pair of Knipex on order, but have been told that they are unavailablke for the forseeable future.Bugger!!)

knippex are theonly brand of cutters to buy.
as for fencing plyers i have not found a good pair yet. they either pinch your hand at the end of the handle or wont cut. that it why i got 2 pairs of double action knipex and 2 pairs of crappy pliers pliers for pulling and tying and knippex for cutting.
if you find a desent brand letr me know.

Lignin, have you tried a pair of Crescent? I don't know where they are made nowadays, though.
You can become used to a good pair of the parrot-beaks, if necessary!

You could try farmers mailbox. http://www.fmb.com.au/
If it goes against the grain, it's being rubbed the wrong way!

Or try garage sales... I got my pair from a garage sale and they are terrific, nicely worn in and cut like magic, still have enough knurling in the mouth to hold the wire too. Unfortunately too worn for any names.
I have another pair - Crescent, they have a lifetime guarantee on them, but they are a bit 'stiff' (yes I've given 'em some oil) and not easy to use - I had to buy the Crescents when I misplaced the garage sale onesI love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
Allan.
