Lucas 613 - the new pride and joy
I am happy to announce the arrival of a Lucas 613 into my shed. I now feel like a proud dad with a 500 pound baby.
Let me know if you want some wood milled in the Brisbane Ipy area, I am basically a hobbiest (hence the small mill) but I may be able to help someone out with a log here and there.
Cheers
Chook

Nice mate. What does one of those set one back $$-wise? I got no room for one but just curious.
How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?

I payed just under 8 grand but it came with some extras for the 613. A new one is going for 8500 from Lucas at the moment (to aussie customers), not sure what they are supplying for that though.Cheers, Keith

Chooks it will take a bit of time to learn the signs of nasty things like wire. THe easiest way is to see the logs/tree's before they come down and take a general look around where they came from, but it sure sucks hey?
I love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!

Yep, weisy can attest that there were no outward signs of the wire.
Does anybody know of a good metal detectr that could be run along the log to pick up wire or nails?Cheers, Keith
