    Default Lucas mill re-tipping blade

For the brains trust...I have a question.

As I now live outback and have no way of getting my blades professionally re-tipped any more...I have to look at doing them myself now

Have ordered jig and associated hardware from Lucas

Is the task of re-tipping the blade(s) relatively easy?
Are there any tricks that I need to know in order to obtain a satisfactory outcome?

I am pedantic when it comes to maintenance!
    Accuracy is paramount to me

    Thanks in advance

Haven't done saw blades before but have done hundreds of concrete cutting blades and cleanliness is of the utmost importance clean both surfaces (blade & teeth) and don’t touch the surfaces where the brazing is going to happen any oils etc from your skin can make the difference between success and failure.

So apart from that, the rest should be relatively straightforward taking care to set jigging up etc.
    Cheers

Thanks for that DJ...apparently a bit of flux applied is key too
My brazing skills are very limited I must say.
Fortunately my neighbours are skilled in the art thank goodness

Have just found out that I need NEW blades with holes that support the jig itself
Good thing is I just watched a utube video on how to re-tip a lucas mill blade...woohoo!
    Pretty straight forward it seems

Its simple enough with the jig. Be diligent with the flux. I wear rubber gloves when setting the teeth to keep them clear of any hand grease. Warm the adjacent blade metal immediatly after brazing the tooth, this prevents quick cooling to the tooth which may cause the tip to crack.
