I have some sad mango news! I came across two, 75-100 year old mango trees yesterday that had died. Upon asking and receiving permission to cut down what I wanted, I inspected more closely. Turns out the trees have been dead for around 1.5 years and sadly, is home to termites and wood borers. The trunks were massive and would have been wonderful to slab .

I did cut a few branches up for a bonfire though...That's life.

Here's one of two trees that i felled today
Way too wide for my bar (around 2100mm wide) so scarfed Butt a bit higher than usual
Will retrieve the stump section possibly with the help of a 20 ton excavator
A few more to go ...MM

    Huge job ahead alright
These two Mangos will get nudged to the ground on tuesday with the help from the excavator
Along with a medium sized Bunya Pine and quite possibly a Camphor Laurel as well
The Camphor has vine connecting it to one of the Mango trees,so safer to remove it
The other Mango also has vine (bougainvillea and cockspur) connecting it to the Bunya
With a 10 foot rake attachment he'll be able to clean up as he goes
    And snig and dig...MM

How big is the Cockspur, if large enough, that's worth saving too.
