Hey Chris, any chance you could get some solid body guitar blanks out of that stump?

    For a one piece you need 350mm x 510mm x 50mm (roughly)

    For a bookmatch pair, you need a block 190mm x 510mm x 100mm to split down the middle into 2 x 190mm x 510mm x 50mm (roughly)

For a flat body top face bookmatch veneer, you need a block that can be split down the middle to make 2 x 190mm x 510mm x 7mm (finished)

For a carved top face bookmatch veneer, you need a block that can be split down the middle to make 2 x 190mm x 510mm x 30mm (finished)

The veneers are usually the really highly figured stuff that are glued onto plain body backs.

Some pictures of the finished items below.
The first is a sample of a body that is made in 2 parts with the figured veneer on the top.

    How long?

The 100mm thick could be split on a bandsaw to make bookmatched bodies if it is long enough... 510mm would be good.
