Anyone milled Belah or black oak
Hi. I need to mill some decking with my Lucas Mill. I have access to some very good belah or I think it is also called Black Oak in the Forbes/ Wirrinya area NSW. It is class one durability but supposed to be hard to mill and splits easily. Has anyone had success with it? Thanks, Cudgy.

Like a lot of casuarinas they tend to split easily. I've never dealt with Casuarina cristata but I would have assumed 1/4 saw it and seal ends well before stacking/stickering and strap down well.

The Belah.
Bought some from " Rare Timbers " Vic. a long time ago.
Turned a bit, without a mask, & the dust really made my nose run. It was a nice timber though, & still have it.Regards,
issatree.
