Still waiting to hear from whoever is in charge of getting the log milled. The owner of the chainsaw mill used so far , is off for a couple of weeks so I'm guessing nothign will be done for a while.
I did get an update on the length of the log, it's between 9 and 10 metres long.Geoff

how was a first pass with a chainsaw mill handled. I'm about to mill an 800mm dia x 8M blue gum (woolibutt) for a shed's beams at my place. did they have to resharpen every 4 or so metres? what kind of straight edge set up for first cut? Hope they did a video. Love to see the timber once milled.
