Welcome aboard CC. I don't know much about selling timber but one possibility would be cut up 1 cube so you have something to show a prospective customer and then cut the rest to his/her spec?

Premium quality dry maybe. Remember 1 cube of log does not equal 1 cube of lumber. I think you need some advice from people that mill and sell that stuff rather than from me.

At 600mm girth and around 3 log cube...should end up with around 1 sawn cube....and not all of that will be first grade...try to quarter saw where possible if you are intending to sell it...you might get reasonable money for it...but only if milled correctly, and you let it season out...you wont be getting rich quick from the enterprise ......good luck with it

Quarter sawn is the way to go. Keep lengths as long as possible. Popular timber with boat builders but good for many other uses. As far as size goes, that will be determined by your log size and the fact you are quarter cutting, this will reduce board width some what. Thickness will be determined by how long you are going to wait to dry (a year per inch thickness.) Your pricing is about right for good stick, well dried.

I've never seen anyone get rich quick in the milling game. I've seen a lot of sweat, tears and disappointment and any good fortune has usually required some hard honest toil.
