Incidently,this stuff is probably the nicest timber to mill...cuts like butter,but isn't furry..the blade glides through it..turning it must be a joy too...One thing i have noticed is that the colour of the wood changes from white to pinky brown within minutes of milling,so will post some pics of some fresh cut stuff...

Few more pics from yesterday,highlighting the fiddleback...these came from a small,straight section from one of the Butt logs..be interesting to see what comes from some of the limbs higher up ..MM

Milled this today,but found 4 nails as well ,the blade did not enjoy the experience some nice fiddleback though..MM

Only milled 3 sections so far,and although they were under compression,were relatively straight..the few large fork sections will produce something special,i think.The colour changes within minutes of coming off the saw,from white/caramel to pink/ brown...as i have said,it cuts like butter(when theres no metal),and i noticed no spring in the logs whilst milling either..MM
