Default Milling a log / Ballarat area

I have an old log from a ash tree that was on my parents property where i grew up. Its been laying in my shed for approx six years.

It is just over a meter long and widest point is approx half a meter wide.

I want it cut into slabs, however none of the local mills will touch it saying its too short for their machines making it dangerous.

Ive emailed the local woodworkers guild over a week ago, no reply.

Does any ballarat locals have a setup that could cut this into slabs (approx 55mm thick)? Or any suggestions where to go?

    Default The Ballarat Woodies.

    Hi demonx,
    There are 2 points here.
They more than likely only meet Twice a Month, & your mail could have been in the middle.
Then you could drive out to their Woodies Shed at the Airport on a Monday, but I'm not sure which ones they Meet & when.
Here's a No. & you can ask him. Brian, XXXX XXXX.

I have removed phone number and PM'd it instead as it is not a good idea to post someone else's phone number on the open forum without their permission - moderator
    Regards,

    Hi there.

I will be in Kyneton next Saturday with my Timberking Sawmill if you want your log milled.

Issatree: thankyou, I will call this number.

Alan: thanks for the offer but I couldn't trust my ute on a three hour round trip. It's a bit under the weather and needs some TLC at the moment.
