milling / treating slash pine
Took out three slash pine for a neighbour yesterday and now have 3 slash pine logs approx 25m, 50cm across at base. Was thinking to slab them with a chainsaw mill but another neighbour reckons they cant be air dried and the work in treating them (kiln dry - don't have a kiln etc) means I'm better off burying them or burning them. Is it worth cutting slabs from them, air drying, or will they warp and crack anyway? Not done much work with green before. Any tips appreciated.
