Yes, I will do so when I move it into a specifically built shed and have mastered how it works and have hopefully a few regular customers. I think that it is an important concept to find ways to make farm forestry a viable proposition as is being done in other countries. It is perhaps easy to plant trees but to then turn them into some money making venture would be really something.

If you don't mind me asking Bob, how much did it set you back? Just curious, in the "compared with a kara way".

Bob, I had a look at the mill on youtube and that is an awesome looking bit of kit.
Should be able to reduce that pile of logs pretty quickly as well.

It sure is an amazing machine and I'm still learning how to use it. I have a great pile of Hoop Pine logs and some others that I have collected over the years that must be sawn up immediately before they deteriorate too much. I'm thinking that I will get them CCA treated and sold as fencing timber. It is not a good market as prices are very low.

i priced the kara, slideteck and the blue one the same as teh slideteck from over the border, cant remember the name at present.

the kara was twice the price of teh others.

i have worked a kara and would love to see the others in person but they seam to me to be the same machine just layed out a bit different.

i would reccomend against going the landscape materials as they only retail for $600/cube its not worth starting teh mill up, you are far better selling half as much as at twice the price.

to save the logs, cut them into squares sticker them with 50mm stickers and cover them to keep the rain off. they can be resawed easy once you have a market.

Well unfortunately, the Slide Tec is not as good as it advertises itself. This is a serious complaint but true. It can cut 10 inches without too much trouble but anything over 12 inches, it certainly struggles as an understatement. Theoretically it will cut 14 inches but to do that with hardwood, I'd sure worry. Pine is a bit easier, but that is all. There is a small oversized chain saw but I have never used it, and the thought of using it seems fanciful. It is a complex story but to cut the bigger logs, I have purchased a 10 inch Lucas mill which to it's credit,it does exactly what it says.

The Slice Tec eats the smaller diameter pine logs but it is a challenge to find a market for smaller dimension wood.

I also have not used some of the extras I paid for and at the moment I don't think that I'll be using them. It all adds the expence with no gain.

I do intend to write a longer story about it all but at the moment I'm short of time. I also intend to post some pictures but my digital camera has broken down and cannot be fixed and I've also tried to post some picture but cannot do so because I'm too dumb on computers.

What have you got driving it Bob?

I have an 85 hp tractor driving it through the pto. One of the initial problems was that the blade was getting hot. I was definitely told that it would not need water on the blade to cool it but it definitely does need water. I have added it and that solves some of the problems.
