    Default Nice river gum

Thought I'd show some pics of a tree I was paid to remove from a local creek. Would have done it for free......
Log's been soaking for a while, slabs are a bit ripe to start with but soon go's away.

Welcome. Looks like we know where you live and your origins.

You don't happen to have a pic of the "splash" do you.

    .

Not too many salties in Gundy luckily.

Not the same at the Chiligoe Caves inland from Cairns. They are 200Km inland.

Had a ball cutting it. Didn't quite cut through, had a 30 ton excavator choke chain and drag it out, walk it up the river bank and onto the work truck. She had some weight in it. Have taken some nice slabs from it, currently making a double swing chair with some 1" slabs I've ripped down to 1 x 4. Hope the bloody smell goes away

Best mornings fun I'd had in ages.
