    Default North island hardwood

Hi folks looking for some help in identifying a mainland eucalypt. Even though I planted the seed I don't recall what went where. Thinking it may be E.grandis or E.botyoides. Any thoughts would be most appreciated. The log was only 350mm diameter and the timber nothing special but was one of my baby's. A several meter bark stocking rough and fissured at the base gives way to a smooth trunk of green and grey hues. Can't find any gumnuts unfortunately.

The rough bark on lower parts suggests it could be botryoides. But bark can be variable even within one species.
With eucalypts, their seed pods can oft reveal more than leaves or bark. Do you have any seed pods? If so use these in a search and it may clarify.

The heartwood of mature botryoides is red but in young trees could be paler, Grandis heartwood is likely paler.

Thanks Euge think its probably grandis in that case. Will keep an eye out for nuts but they are a long way up!
