OLEO MAC Chainsaw
Hi all,
A mate of mine has a 264F Oleo Mac Chainsaw but no spark. Appears to be the coil pack, but I can't find any agents in Victoria. Does anybody out there know of any Oleo Mac agents please.
Cheers

there is geoffs mowers in warragul but I am sure there are more about. I think if you look on their australian website you will find some I just cannot remember it at the moment. The macs are not bad I am led to believe, and were responsible for quite a few other brands out there including "olympik". I will try to get geoffs contact for ya.
I am told that sharpening handsaws is a dying art.... this must mean I am an artisan.
Get your handsaws sharpened properly to the highest possible standard, the only way they should be done, BY HAND, BY ME!!! I only accept perfection in any saw I sharpen.

A mate of mine did the coil in his Oleo Mac a few years ago and is still yet to pick up a new one. 2 reasons why he hasn't, is because no one carries them as spares or it'll cost him a mint to get one in.
I keep telling him to get me the part number for it and I'd look at getting one from the States for him, as I've heard they are fairly cheap to buy from there, so I'd suggest you look abroad for a price comparison before committing to buying one from a local dealer.Cheers

Can't say I know the particular model of the saw you are talking about but I just repaired an oleo-mac for a friend that was suffering the no spark syndrome. The fix was as simple as unwinding the stop toggle switch wires. The switch vibrated itself in circles over time in its housing causing the wires to twist around one another. Heat oil/fuel had perished the wires outer casing causing it to short.

Thanks Guys, Unfortunately the fix isnt as easy as repairing a wire, and the real unfortunate bit is I actually own a spare coil but do you think I can find it!!! I've managed to find a couple of dealers nearby but I'm worried about cost as DJ has warned. Saw is getting a bit old now but its a shame when the rest is in really good nick due to little use over its life.
Cheers
