Pictures - Day on the Mill
Hi
I love the pictures that are on the Forum so here's my day getting "Weisy the Wonder Boy Miller" to mill some logs I was very fortunate to get. A development was going ahead and these were on the property - so I nabbed them as they were going to be chipped.
Got Carl (Brisbane) to mill them for me.
Pic 1. - Start of the day - what would it reveal? Left to right - Cedar tops in Background, Hoop Pine, Aussie Red Cedar, pepperina (hifding (orange colour), Cedar, Rubber Tree, Elm-Fig???
Pic 2. - Getting set up
Pic 3. "Weisy the Wonder Boy Miller" who says he never smiles?
Pic 4. - This Elm-Fig? looks great - Turns a VERY WHITE colour startling white - Intarsia people see Carl.
Pic 5. - Elm-Fig - with darker flame inside
Pic 6. - Rubber Tree wood isn't too bad - the bright white latex turns to rubber bands - weird sort of stuff
Pic 7. - He couldn't resist it - The Rubber Tree shavings had to be tried out - this could catch on as the next new "Olympic Sport". Very bouncy stuff - Go Weisyboy LOL
Pic 8. - Milling always attracts a crowd

More pics
Pic 1. - Hard at it
Pic 2. - Stylised Hoop Pine
Pic 3. - Now to the cedar
Pic 4. - more Cedar
Pic 5. - Cedar Stump Slabs - too many for me
Carl wasn't happy when I said I'd cut these into boards to make a table - when I said I could break them down into pen blanks he nearly fell over - to easy to get a bite from him
Pic 6. - What can say - Cedar is nice stuff
