Portable Mill and Operator Required
Hi Woodwork Forum folk.
New here though I have logged on to view threads once or twice.
I am looking for someone who may be interested in milling a moderate amount of timber for me on site 30 kms west of Kempsey.
The timber is the result of some clearing I have done. It is currently pushed into rows. At a guess I would say between 20 and 30 cubic meters. Could be more no less. Bloodwood, brush box, grey gum, tallowood and other species. Timber has been down for a few years.
If your keen for some work I'd be happy to hear from you. Private message me for contact details.
Regards
John

I would be interested but don't really have the time available. Got my mill from down there a year or so back, Just out of interest how do you want the timber cut up? ie slabs or sized?
Cheers, Keith

Hey John,
are the logs in a windrow type of pile (heads and trunks all pushed up on top of each other) or in saw log piles, lined up ready to be milled?
Do you have/are approachable about 'camping' facilities there? Basically I currently have 400k range, but can/would go down your way to do a week at a time, camp/stay on site mill from dawn to dusk that kind of thing.
Yeah I know it's about an 8 hour trip for me each way, but I hate to see logs go to waste and school holidays are driving me nuts
Failing that, you could contact Lucas on 1800LUCAS1( 1800 582 271) they will give you names and numbers of folkes in your area with mills - might give you more of a chance of getting someone locally?
Hope it helpsI love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!
Allan.
